This week on the Frotcast, founding editor of WithLeather and WarmingGlow Matt Ufford returns to tell us about his new ESPN gig and the joy of not having to be a writer anymore. Comedian Harry Moroz also returns, in a spirited ‘cast about the overabundance of Game Of Thrones takes, and of course the new indie film trailer that has everyone talking, Loqueesha, which may or may not have been selected to screen at the San Luis Obispo Film Festival. We’ve also got a brand new Crystal Corner starring Dennis Rodman — is he secretly working for the CIA? — and we read your emails about hilarious, Name of the Year Draft-worthy names you’ve encountered, and answer your thorny relationship questions. Only one Frot can stop the Yakuza! That’s right, this month’s bonus LIVE RIFF is for the 2005 Steven Seagal classic, Into the Sun, available for free on Amazon Prime.
When the Governor of Tokyo is murdered and his wife’s sister is kidnapped, his ex-CIA American brother-in-law goes after the responsible terrorists and in the process uncovers a plot to detonate a nuclear device in the U.S.
This action classic has Yakuza, Chinese gangsters, and former NFL great Eddie George dying in the first five minutes. So many cultures for Steven Seagal to appropriate! Incredibly he never wears outerwear that doesn’t reach at least to his knees. I believe this was Steven’s Matrix phase. Do we think the terribly scaled gun on his back in the poster is deliberate or accidental? Discuss.
Joining us in this week’s riffage are comedians extraordinaire Yusef Roach and Ashley Ray, and Michael Rousselet from The Room/Five Second Films/Dude Bro Party Massacre III. Please enjoy this and tell your friends to donate so they can hear it too! You’ll never be lonely when you have the Frotcast.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that this week brings us the release of the WORLD’S MOST IMPORTANT MOVIE, Avengers: Endgame, a movie event so huge that you’re legally allowed to kill a man if he spoils it for you. Matt and I saw this movie and did the entire first half of this extra special bonus frotcast SPOILER FREE. Don’t want to hear spoilers? Don’t worry, we warn you before we start in with the spoilers. But after that? Ooh, child, you’re on your own. Because we are spilling all of that Avengers tea. Matt and I differ distinctly in how much we enjoyed this movie, but one thing we could agree on was a reflexive dislike of Anthony Mackie. Also: Infinity Stones. CGI battles. Gwyneth Paltrow’s hair. New portals. A raccoon. We discuss it all, and you’re going to FUCKING love it. #DontSpoilTheEndGame by not listening to this podcast, bitch.

Ask and you shall receive: back by popular demand on this week’s Frotcast, it’s Joe Sinclitico. Joe is freshly engaged to be married (!!!), which doesn’t stop him from talking about his stint as a porn cameraman in his mid 20s (another listener-requested story). Comedian Jason Webb is also joining us this week, talking about his preacher father, his North Carolina upbringing, and the incredible story of the time a man used prayer to cure his plantar wart (you have to hear this one).
We also talk the best Tom Selleck movies, and of course Game Of Thrones. We answer all the burning questions, like whether Bran is the Night King and which Stark kid is the best. Is Game Of Thrones the best normie-approved cultural phenomenon we can hope for? Or is it the cultural juggernaut known as the FilmDrunk Frotcast? As always, subscribe to our Patreon for this week’s bonus content and leave us a review on iTunes (and thanks for the recent ones, you guys).
You’ll never be lonely when you have the Frotcast.

This week, Matt and I saw Hellboy, which pretty much everyone hated except for me, including Matt, apparently. Though we do agree that Hellboy is a perfect Gen X protagonist (angry, angst-filled, but secretly believing he’s a good guy). We also agree on a lot of the salient points — like how hilarious it is that Hellboy is summoned by Rasputin during World War II with no explanation of how that happens, and the joy of watching a ball of guts become possessed by the spirits of your ancestors — but we disagree on whether that hilarity was intentional, and how much that actually matters in the scheme of things. We also read the bad reviews and discuss everyone comparing this one to Guillermo Del Toro. Finally we listen to a voicemail story from one of our listener’s crowd experience during The Favourite. Enjoy! You’ll never be lonely when you have the Frotcast.
