Hello Frotland! Matt Lieb here and we’ve got your weekly fix of the Filmdrunk Frotcast. This week, we had the hilarious and beautiful and my girlfriend Francesca Fiorentini in the LA Frotquarters and we discuss everything from Jussie Smollett, Jacob Wohl, to our nice little day trip to Palm Springs that we just got back from where she and I lounged by the pool all day. She’s my girlfriend. Eventually, Vince and I discuss Netflix’s Abducted in Plain Sight about a super sexual predator who will seduce an entire family just to get to a little girl. It’s pretty amazing and horrifying. So have a listen! And give us some stars and a review on iTunes, if you want. THANKS!

Episode 401 of the Frotcast is available on Patreon right now, and here’s a little preview of it for everyone to enjoy. In this clip, we are talking about the Fyre festival’s founder Billy McFarland with comedian Jessica Sele.
If the Frotcast sounds mad profesh this week it’s because we were down in Santa Ana recording in a real studio — well, a real business, anyway — at Foodbeast HQ. Sitting in with Matt and Vince were Geoff Kutnick (second from right) and Elie Ayrouth (left) from Foodbeast and Uproxx Life editor and author of Danger Gang and the Pirates of Borneo Steve Bramucci (next to Vince). We talked about how Foodbeast came to be, the boys’ favorite Taco Bell orders (shout out to Mountain Dew Baja Blast), and of course plenty of movie topics. Those include who’s going to host the Oscars now that Kevin Hart did a gay joke in a tweet seven years ago, Kevin Smith’s thriving crying-after-trailers business, food porn in movies, Crazy Rich Asians, and more. And of course we manage to fit in plenty of stupid accents along the way. Why? I don’t know why. There is no why on the frotcast.

Comedian Paul Palmeri and Bitchuation Room host Francesca Fiorentini stop by this week to talk about NPR firing their film critic David Edelstein over his bad Last Tango In Paris joke, and bad NPR comedy in general. Also, why does the punishment seem so much worse when the person actually apologizes lately? We discuss screenwriter Terry Rossio saying calling someone “anti-vaxx” was like calling them the N-Word. We also dig into the “tankie” phenomenon and the left’s small but exhausting pedant wing. We also answer your listener emails and voicemails. Matt and I recorded a new review for the Patreon donors this week but you can’t listen to it yet (still embargo’d). firstname.lastname@example.org, 415 275 0030, patreon.com/Frotcast.
Matt and I argued about whether this episode should be titled “Das Crapital,” in honor of Matt’s butt eating, or “Da’s Kapital,” in honor of *terrible Irish accent* “Be a good boy ‘n go foight yer da’.” That’s just a little inside baseball for you.
This week on the Frotcast, we’re recording from the new Frotquarters in LA for the first time ever! But we’ve got that same ol’ Frotcast magic, thanks to returning guests comedian Joe Sinclitico and comedienne Alison Stevenson — with Matt Lieb joining remotely and Vince Mancini handling the controls. This week we’re talking ‘Solo,’ sort of, and the weird, Gam3rg8-esque backlash that’s convinced that Kathleen Kennedy is using Star Wars to advance a “feminist agenda.” We also discuss Gringo, the John McAfee documentary about how he likes to kill people and eat poop (seriously, he lets ladies poop in his mouth). And we learn about Alison’s dating life, talk “ghosting,” and all the 21st century relationship etiquette. Enjoy and Frot on, donate at Patreon.com/Frotcast and don’t forget to review us on iTunes so we can climb the charts and rule the world.
With Allison Mick stuck in traffic, we’ve got Dave Lozo joining Vince and Matt Lieb on the Frotcast this week, to discuss the Tomb Raider remake, JJ Abrams, Sean Spicer at the Emmys, Hillary Clinton’s terrible book, THE ACCOUNTANT, and Lawrence O’Donnel’s Bill O’Reilly’style freakout. And of course, we finish things off with a round of the Royalty Freestyle, with Matt improvising songs for Patreon donors Jon G and Dan L. Enjoy, and Frot on! Donate at Patreon.com/Frotcast

Afterwards, we talk about Beyonce and Jay-Z for some reason, cheating, and the usual dose of weird sex talk with Matt Lieb.

Our predictions.1:10:18 – Your emails, including how to deal with your terrible film school classmates. Bret and I swap college film class stories.
Back from hiatus, we’ve got Matt Lieb and Brendan in the Frotquarters with Ben joining via Skype. We talk about Matt Lieb’s newly-acquired quicksand porn (thanks, listeners!), read an alleged treatment for Kevin Spacey’s body-swap-with-a-cat comedy sent in by a listener, and talk about my trips to the AVN Awards and to Sundance. Then we bloop in Gavin Booth, director of Scarehouse, to talk about the challenges of shooting a horror movie and being Canadian, and also the dumb things people ask at Q & As. Also, I convince everyone to see Jupiter Ascending because it’s one of the most ridiculous movies ever. Enjoy!
