Frotcast 157: “When you’ve got an Armie Hammer, everything looks like a nail.”

Recording early this week due to scheduling issues, perhaps too early, some might say, this week’s Frotcast features San Francisco comedy legends Matt Lieb AND Matt Louv. We talk about Matt Lieb, and how lonely he is, and then get into a discussion about what films we’d like to watch in Punch-o-vision, which would allow the viewer to punch the characters. After that, we talk about some other stuff, and we start coming up with ska-themed movies for some reason, like Ska-face. Yeah.

Frotcast 156: Matt Lieb, Burnsy’s Corner, Man of Steel

This week on the Frotcast, Matt Lieb joins us in the Frotquarters, and he recently got dumped so he needs a friend. We talk about the wonderful world of online dating, and what Stephen Jenkins thought about Matt talking about him on the last Frotcast. Lieb and I went on a man-date to Man of Steel, so we talk about that, and our favorite slow-motion scenes in general. Then Burnsy comes on to talk about the naked BART man, the sad decline and reverse aging of Matty B, and play us his new song of the Summer. Then we answer your question about “troll pooping.” Wouldn’t “poop trolling” be more accurate? Who knows. A good time was had by all.

Frot on.

Frotcast 155: Vietnam Movies, Rape Jokes, Etc.

This week on the Frotcast, our guest David Gborie had to bail, so it’s just the boys – Vince, Brendan, and Bret. But we still have lots of fun! We offer your updates on Fantasy Summer Box Office, I saw The Bling Ring, we talk about the curious political subtexts of 80s movies and current movies, discuss our favorite Vietnam movies, tell BART stories, and, because so many people demanded it, we talk about Lindy West and Jim Norton’s “rape joke” “debate” from Kamau Bell’s show this past week, and our culture’s endless desire for contrived debates in general.

Frotcast 154: Matt Lieb, 6 Fast 6 Furious, After Earth

We’re back minus Ben this week, who’s in Tokyo, but we brought back fan favorite, SF comedian Matt Lieb to pick up the slack. This week’s topics include a lengthy discussion of 6 Fast 6 Furious, stories from my recent Mexico trip, Bret saw Side Effects and The Ambassador, and Matt Lieb relates his dad’s advice shortly after 9/11 – “the best time to buy stocks is when there’s blood in the streets.” Film.com’s Laremy Legel even prepared a statement for us about After Earth. Enjoy.

Frotcast 153: Star Trek, Hangover, and Fast 6 with Laremy

This week, we get started by playing a voicemail, discussing hobo activity, and hear from Will Smith’s wiener son. Then we bloop Laremy in to talk about Fast 6, Hangover 3 and Star Trek. Vince also serenades us with some Black Sabbath. Frot on!

Frotcast 152: Matt Lieb

This week on the Frotcast, we welcome back one of our favorite comedians Matt Lieb (@lieb123456789) to tell us stories of hanging out with Stephen Jenkins (of Third Eye Blind). We read a listener email about stand up advice, Vince tells us about his comedy event last night, Bret saw Silver Linings Playbook, and other hilarity ensues. Thanks for listening!

Frot on.

Frotcast 151: Burnsy’s Corner and Iron Man 3

This week, we are honored to welcome back Ashley Burns AKA Burnsy to the Frotcast. We step into Burnsy’s corner to hear the Song of the Summer and learn that Florida now has Lion Tacos. Everyone but Ben saw Iron Man 3, and that is discussed for awhile, as well as upcoming Marvel Comics movies. We also listen to some voice mails, go over Vince Vaughn’s latest “normal job” movie, and Vince puts out the Frot Signal to the sorority girl who got kicked out for keeping it way too real.

Frot on!

This week, Brendan and Bret saw several movies (Brendan saw his on a plane). We bring Matt Ufford on, who met the one and only Gary Busey in New York and tells us about it. Then we bring Laremy Legel on for our Third Annual Fantasy Summer Box Office. We then make up movie vehicles for Vince Vaughn like a modern Awesomo-3000 and learn about crazy names in Utah. Frot on!

Frotcast 148: Comedian Pam Benjamin, Clown Orgies, Oblivion

This week on the Frotcast, we’re short staffed, with Ben down in Southern California with family and Brendan out at a work function or possibly strung out on heroin. But we make the most of it, bringing on San Francisco comedienne and writer Pam Benjamin, who tells us all about her journey from sheltered Christian girl to divorceé and participant in a GHB-fueled karaoke orgy on a houseboat with a group of porn clowns (note: this is a real thing). We talk a little about the news, like Justin Bieber at the Anne Frank museum, Tyler Perry’s motivational stove, and the police chief who ate his daughter’s entire pot cake. Also, I saw Oblivion, and we talk about that. Cool? Cool.
