This week on the Frotcast, Matt & Vince review the new Adam Sandler movie, You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitsvah, plus Jessica Sele drops by to discuss her experiences at the theater. We talk about David Zaslav’s brilliant new plans for “CNN Max,” plus Mitch McConnell suffering from “dehydration.”

TEASER – Frotcast 556: The Four Levels Of A Competitor, with Sean Keane

This week Matt and Vince welcome Sean Keane from Roundball Rock back to the virtual frotquarters just hours before his European vacation. We talk about the lady who wouldn’t let her husband watch the nudity in Oppenheimer, and whether this is anti-sex scene discourse or just recovering sex addition discourse. Then we shift into the magical world of AI porn, in which a simple request like “hands on hips” will make your lady’s horse penis disappear, and no one wants that. Well, maybe a few people do. Then we ask Sean about Hard Knocks, the four levels of competitor, and whether coaches and business leaders are any different anymore. And of course, there are some good Trump clips.

Frotcast 555 – Justice for the Axe Pilot, with Francesca Fiorentini

Well hey, would you look at that, a free Frotcast! Matt and Francesca are in Fresno with Vince Mancini and do a quick little in-person Frotcast while baby Carina is asleep. We open this week discussing the pilot who chopped down a parking garage gate because it was pissing him off. He’s been charged with criminal mischief and suspended from work, but we will happily donate to his legal defense because we believe this man is all of us, fighting back against automation that doesn’t work and taking a few whacks for the human spirit. Meanwhile, we talk about what could’ve possibly made Britney Spears divorce her CGI husband and read a hilarious old profile about Mr. Spears’ two feuding Svengalis. It’s a fun time! Listen and share so we can get more piggies!

Frotcast 548 – Frotting meets Doc-ing, with Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman

This week Matt and Vince welcome master documentarians Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman from Rakontur Productions to the Frot to discuss the latest in Florida F*ckery. Billy and Alfred have become the documentarians laureate of South Florida with their films 537 Votes, Screwball, Dawg Fight, Cocaine Cowboys, The U, and God Forbid (et. al). These days, they’re working on From Russia With Lev, a feature doc about shady Trump/Giuliani associate turned turncoat Lev Parnas, and A Sunny Place for Shady People, a series of mini documentaries with Dan Le Batard that will look at scandals around the Miami area. More importantly, they’re great talkers, so we pick their brains about Florida scandals, the documentary-industrial complex, and something that in four previous interviews I’ve always forgotten to ask Billy about, his past as a child actor.
Plus, Vince and Matt discuss The Curious Case Of Natalia Grace, the most messed up, infuriating docuseries ever made.

Frotcast 546 – The Idol AKA 50 Shades of Entourage, with Sam Haft [UNLOCKED]

Here’s our past Frotcast, now unlocked for your free listening pleasure, about HBO’s The Idol with guest Sam Haft, songwriter and half of the band the Living Tombstone.

Frotcast Bonus: Top Chef World All-Stars Winner Buddha Lo

Big news for fans of Top Chef Power Index: I interviewed Top Chef World All-Stars winner Buddha Lo. Buddha became the first back-to-back Top Chef champion in the show’s history. In terms of how dominant he was, all I need to say is that I had him ranked number one in the first episode of his first season, and then had him number one again after all but one of this season’s episodes (and don’t think he didn’t know that I snubbed him in my episode one recap this year — I had him at number two).

You expect a guy as exacting in his approach as Buddha is to be kind of dull or a dick, but Buddha is just too Australian for that. He retains his casual appeal, and has such a unique background that he always makes for a great interview. Who else could I ask such pointed questions about what a dugong tastes like and expect such specific (and weirdly mouth watering) answers?

Read the whole write-up over at GQ, or (AND) listen to it here.

Teaser – Frotcast Watches HBO’s The Idol With Sam Haft

The Frotcast reviews HBO’s ‘The Idol’ on this week’s podcast, with guest Sam Haft from The Living Tombstone. ‘The Idol’ stars Johnny Depp-spawn Lily Rose-Depp and pop star The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, whose actual house is the location for the show. It adds to the growing Sam Levinson oeuvre, the brainchild of Barry Levinson’s director son who seems to really love filming naked ladies with strobey visuals and bombastic scores. Bret called ‘The Idol’ “50 Shades of Entourage” on our text chain. We will defend Sam Levinson’s right to film other famous kids naked and horny art in general, even if we can’t entirely stand behind this show. Subscribe on Patreon for the full episode! Other topics include the British guy in hot water for his eggplant statement and the Jason Momoa/Vin Dieself beef.

Frotcast 545: ‘Air’ With Joey Devine

The Frotcast is back with another together-in-the-studio episode! It was just like old times this week, with Vince in LA to record live with Matt at Frot Studio South, and Roundball Rock host Joey Devine guesting, to talk about an actual movie.

This week we all saw Air, the heartwarming story of how Sonny Vaccaro got Michael Jordan to come to Nike starring Matt Damon as Vaccaro and Ben Affleck (who also directed) as Nike’s Phil Knight. Is Ben Affleck a good director? Do all 80s movies look the same now? Does Nike really need a puff piece? We answer all these questions and more.

If you don’t care about that, don’t worry, we have many other topics to discuss as well. We breakdown Johnny Depp’s deranged Q&A from Cannes, Mark Wahlberg’s incredible prayer video, and had Joey and Matt try to guess what movie analogy Elon Musk would reach for to try to explain his posting. Oh, and Jude Law had a perfume made from doo-doo because method acting! You’re going to love it. Also, there’s a video version on our YouTube page if you want also to see our dumb faces. [TEASER] ‘Babylon’, Joe Sinclitico Is Going To Be A Dad Soon

Howdy, Frotcateers! Apparently Matt hasn’t uploaded a teaser to this feed for more than a month and I didn’t even notice. I’m so very sorry. Will you accept this premium episode in which we review ‘Babylon’ as my penance? It has Joe Sinclitico on it. You guys love that. Hear the full episode by subscribing at patreon.com/frotcast.
